Until the last few years, no one would consider me to be adventurous. I grew up in a suburb of Syracuse, NY then attended Syracuse University – less than a 15 minute drive from my childhood home.
When I was 21, I moved to Manhattan alone for an internship, fell in love with the Big Apple, then after graduating from Syracuse (Go Orange!), I moved to the NYC area permanently. Others were a bit surprised that my overly protective parents allowed this and how quickly I thrived in city life.
Writing is one of my passions. In high school, I took Creative Writing, submitted pieces to writing contests, and received an honorable mention through Scholastic for my senior portfolio. In college, I declared a minor in Marketing, which ended up not feeling right. Switching to a minor in Writing ended up being an obvious decision.
While working in an office setting, I’ve constantly contemplated ways to dive back into writing, but opportunity never knocked. In January 2020, at the age of 24, I competed in my first-ever beauty pageant. Shortly after competing, I decided to join Bumble BFF to meet more friends locally. I am constantly asked by the great people I met through this app about my pageant experience and decided that this is the time to share my story about the pageant and my journey of going from oranges to apples through my lifestyle blog.
From Oranges = From Syracuse, NY, home of the Syracuse Orange
To Apples = to the Big Apple, New York City
